3.4.7.2

MicroSD as Non-Volatile Storage

The MicroSD slots can accommodate up to 32GB of flash storage that can be used as storage, 
similar to a flash thumb drive.

3.4.7.3

MicroSD as Boot Device

By default, during the board boot operation, the BIOS will first look for a boot record on the 
MicroSD storage device. If no boot record is found, then the board tries to PXE boot from the 
local i350 network created by the server. If this is unsuccessful, the MCP reboots and tries the 
boot sequence again. The boot sequence can be modified in the BIOS.

3.4.8

Temperature Sensors

There are several temperature sensors on the PCI7205 card. Six SPD memory temperature 
sensor devices are available around the card. Four for the DDR3 memory SPD devices, and one 
for the MCP1 FRU chip, and one for the PCIe gold finger FRU SPD memory device.

Each SPD memory device has a temperature sensor in addition to the memory. There are four 
SPD memory devices on the card. Two SPD memory devices for each MCP, one SPD per 
memory channel. The SPD temperature sensor can be used to measure the incoming air 
temperature to the individual MCP. Additionally there are temperature sensors in the two FRU 
chips. One FRU chip on MCP1 for Artesyn, and one temperature sensor on the FRU chip for the 
server on the pcie gold finger socket.

There are temperature sensors built into each MCP. Each core has its own temperature sensor, 
along with a temperature sensor for the GFX and Uncore.
