On the host system, for each PCIE-7205 card installed, the host detects two (2) Gigabit
ethernet interfaces; each of these ethernet interfaces is associated with one PCIE-7205 CPU.
The PCIE-7205 ethernet interfaces on the host provide access only to the PCIE-7205 CPUs.
Note: The PCIE-7205 shares the pci7207 utility and PCIE-7207 OS.
1.3.1.1 pci7207 Utility
A utility pci7207 is provided to manage the PCIE-7205 cards installed on the host system. It is
the same utility used to manage the PCIE-7207 cards. This utility provides a mechanism to
configure the DHCP services and initialize the network interfaces associated with the PCIE-
7205 cards. It is also used to reset, power down/up PCIE-7205 CPUs and recover a corrupted or
mis-configured BIOS.
1.3.1.2 AMT
The PCIE-7205 card does not have a physical serial console for each of the CPUs; instead it uses
Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) to access the CPU console through VNC or SOL.
Intel AMT is a hardware and firmware technology for remote out-of-band management used
by Intel processors.
AMT is configured on all PCIE-7205 CPUs at the factory. While AMT provides several features,
on the PCIE-7205 CPUs, it is used only to access the serial console of a PCIE-7205 CPU via SOL
or VNC.The default username is
admin and the default password is P@ssw0rd .
1.3.2 PCIE-7205 OS
The PCIE-7205 cards uses the same OS as the PCIE-7207 cards, the OS is a standard CentOS 7.1
kernel which has been updated with patches from Intel Media SDK, and a CentOS 7.1 root file
system. The PCIE-7205 OS is delivered as a PXE bootable image and it contains all required
drivers, tools, and utilities for the PCIE-7205 CPUs. For more information about updating the
