Electrical Safety

Do not work alone under hazardous conditions.

High short circuit current through conductive materials could cause severe burns.

A licensed electrician is required to install permanently wired equipment.

Check that the power cord(s), plug(s), and sockets are in good condition.

To reduce the risk of electric shock when grounding cannot be verified, disconnect the
equipment from the AC power outlet before installing or connecting to other equipment.
Reconnect the power cord only after all connections are made.

Do not handle any kind of metallic connector before the power has been removed.

Connect the equipment to a three wire AC outlet (two poles plus ground). The receptacle
must be connected to appropriate branch circuit/mains protection (fuse or circuit breaker).
Connection to any other type of receptacle may result in a shock hazard.

General – The safety instructions manual for the enclosures shall contain the following
statements or equivalent and it is shall ship with each product:
o
Provide the minimum spacings between the accessories/components and the
cabinet housing that shall be maintained for safe operation of the equipment when
installed in accordance with the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA 70.
o
As appropriate, all wiring and equipment should be installed in accordance with
NFPA 70, “National Electrical Code,” and the applicable sections of ANSI C2,
“National Electrical Safety Code."
o
Only trained service personnel or licensed electricians shall install the equipment.
o
The enclosure is suitable for wall mounting only.
o
Masonry (Concrete Block, Concrete Slab or Brick) Wall Mount Instructions: Shall
note Eight (four on each side) Hilti HSL Expansion Anchor (M8) or 5/16 in anchors or
Hilti HIT ‐ HY Series Chemical Anchor System, and Hilti HAS Threaded Anchor Rod
(M8) 5/16.
o
Wood Stud Wall Mount Instructions: Shall note Eight (four on each side) M8 (5/16)
Hilti HSL Heavy Duty Anchor HUS ‐ H Universal Screw Anchor. 4 in. Long.
