GAS FLOW IN CUBIC FEET PER MINUTE. THE SOLENOID VALVES USED WILL PROVIDE TWO (2), GAS
FLOWS
DUAL SPEED UNDERCOVER GASSING GENERAL IN-
FORMATION continued;
FOR THE SEAMER AT BOTH LOW AND HIGH SPEED. THE PLC
LOGIC WILL MONITOR THE FLOW AND COMPARE IT TO PRE-
SET VALUES FOR ALARM CONDITIONS. ALSO, THE LOGIC
WILL PROVIDE E-STOP AND COAST TO STOP FUNCTIONS IN
CASES WHERE THERE ARE LOW GAS OR HIGH GAS CONDI-
TIONS.
DUAL SPEED UNDERCOVER GASSING
SYSTEM OPERATION
FLOW METER OPERATION
ONCE THE UPPER AND LOWER LIMIT ALARM VALUES ARE
SET IN THE PLC, THE FLOW METER CAN OPERATE IN THE
RANGE OF 0-100 SCFM. WHEN THE VALUES OF FLOW
RATE
ARE CHANGED IN EITHER THE LOW OR HIGH FLOW
REGULA
TORS, THE FLOWMETER WILL MONITOR AND
REGISTER
THAT FLOW RATE.
DIGITAL DISPLAY OPERATION
THE DISPLAY WILL SHOW THE VALUE OF FLOW IN STAN-
DARD CUBIC FEET PER
MINUTE. THE FLOW IS PROPOR-
TIONAL TO THE CURRENT SIGNAL PROVIDED BY THE
FLOW
METER.
SOLENOID VALVES OPERATION
THE SOLENOID VALVES ARE ENERGIZED BY EITHER THE PROXIMITY SENSOR OR BY PRESSING
THE GAS PURGE BUTTON. WHEN OPERATING IN SLOW SPEED, THE LOW SPEED SOLENOID IS
ENERGIZED. WHEN OPERATING IN THE HIGH SPEED MODE, BOTH HIGH AND LOW SPEED
SOLENOIDS ARE ENERGIZED, BY ADJUSTING THE HIGH SPEED FLOW REGULATOR, THIS FLOW
COMBINED WITH THE FLOW FROM THE LOW SPEED FLOW REGULATOR, WILL PROVIDE A
INCREASED FLOW REGISTERED BY THE FLOWMETER.
NO CAN NO GAS PROXIMITY SENSOR OPERATION
THIS SENSOR WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE FILLER END OF THE INFEED TABLE, PROVIDES THE
SEAMER CONTROLS WITH TURNING ON THE UNDERCOVER GASSING SYSTEM, PRIOR TO SEAM
ING THE FILLED CONTAINER. IT ALSO STARTS A TIMER FOR SHUTTING OFF THE SYSTEM FOR
THE
LAST CAN TO BE SEAMED. ADEQUATE TIME IS ALLOWED TO INSURE THAT THE LAST CAN
WILL BE
SEAMED.
GAS PURGE BUTTON OPERATION
THIS BUTTON IS A MEANS OF STARTING THE UNDERCOVER GASSING SYSTEM AT THE START
OF
OPENING THE INFEED CAN GATE TO THE FILLER. ALSO WHEN THERE ARE CANS ON THE
INFEED
TABLE AND PAST THE NO CAN NO GAS SENSOR.
PLUGCOCK LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION
THE 180S EMPLOYS TWO (2) PLUGCOCK LIMITS TO INDICATE AND REGISTER TO THE PLC WHAT
CONDITION THE UNDERCOVER GASSING SYSTEM IS IN. THESE LIMITS ARE LOCATED ON THE
GAS
PIPING OUTSIDE THE OUTER ENCLOSURE. THE FIRST WILL INDICATE THAT THE SEAMER
IS IN THE
RUN OR GAS MODE. THE SECOND SWITCH WILL INDICATE THAT THE SEAMER IS IN
THE WASH
MODE. BOTH SWITCHES ARE IN THE CLOSED POSITION IN ORDER FOR THE
SEAMER TO RUN.
