SERVICE NOTICE
Recommended procedure for setting the Angelus 180S Seamer Brake in
conjunction with the Filler Brake.
It is recommended that the 180S Seamer-Filler Combination, on activating any "Emergency Stop
Button", should come to a complete stop using a 1 station to 100 cans / minute procedure or 1% of
the total Seamer speed.
Example:
Seamer Speed = *2000 CPM.
A.
Emergency Stop Button is pushed.
B.
Brake settings should stop the Seamer and Filler after 20 stations have passed
or use 1% of total Seamer Speed to calculate stop position.
Example: 1% of *2000 CPM = 20 stations
Adjusting Seamer Brake and Filler Brake;
1.
Disconnect Filler Drive between Seamer and Filler.
2.
Operate Seamer at desired speed (exam. *2000 CPM).
3.
Actvate Seamer Brake by pushing an "Emergency Stop Button".
4.
Observe number of stations that pass a given point after the stop button is
pushed.
5.
Adjust Seamer Brake to stop Seamer after 16 stations pass. (1RH - Brake
Rheostat located in the Electrical Console)
6.
Activate Filler Drive Clutch. (use Handwheel to re-engage Filler Drive Clutch)
7.
Run both Seamer and Filler at desired speed (exam. *2000 CPM) and push an
"Emergency Stop Button".
8.
Adjust Filler Brake to stop both Seamer and Filler after 20 stations have passed.
* 2000 CPM in this case is used as an example for the 180S Seamer. This formula applies to all
Seamer - Filler Brake Adjustments. In the case of other Angelus Model Seamers, use the intended
production speed of your Seamer when setting the Brakes.
