AUTOMATIC GREASE LUBRICATION OPERATION
AUTOMATIC GREASE CONTROL LOGIC OPERATION
THE ABOVE OPERATIONS ARE CONTROLLED BY THE PLC LOGIC. IN INITIATING THE GREASE
LOGIC, THE SEAMER WILL BE ADEQUATELY GREASED AT PRESET INTERVALS. INCLUDED IN THE
CONTROL LOGIC IS A GREASE FAULT AND FAIL LOGIC. THE GREASE FAULT LOGIC IS INITIATED
IF THE “GREASE PUMP ON” TIMER, WHICH IS SET FOR 4 SEC., TIMES OUT. IT SETS A BLINKING
GREASE FAULT LIGHT, AND INITIATES ANOTHER TIMER, WHICH IS SET FOR 180 SEC. THIS IS THE
GREASE FAIL TIMER. THE FIRST FAULT MAY BE RESET BY PRESSING THE GREASE FAULT RESET
BUTTON. IF HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM FAULTS AGAIN, THE FAIL TIMER WILL TIME OUT AND SHUT
THE SEAMER DOWN ON A COAST TO STOP. THE SEAMER WILL NOT RESTART UNTIL THE GREASE
FAULT HAS BEEN CORRECTED. ONCE THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN CORRECTED, A GREASE CYCLE
WILL HAVE TO BE INITIATED, AND THE SYSTEM PRESSURE SWITCH HAS TO BE ACTUATED, IN
ORDER FOR THE SYSTEM TO BE RESET.
MANUAL GREASE CHECK BUTTON OPERATION
LOCATED ON THE REAR OF THE SEAMER, INSIDE THE OUTER ENCLOSURE, IS THE GREASE
CHECK BUTTON. BY PRESSING THIS BUTTON, ONE GREASE CYCLE WILL BE INITIATED, BUT
WITHOUT THE VACUUM CYCLE.
MANUAL GREASE BUTTON OPERATION
LOCATED ON THE LUBE ENCLOSURE DOOR, IS AN MANUAL LUBE BUTTON. PRESSING THIS
BUTTON WILL INITIATE ONE GREASE CYCLE, WITH THE VACUUM CYCLE.
PRE-WASH AND POST WASH OPERATION
THIS LOGIC IS INCLUDED TO ENSURE THAT THE SEAMING ROLLS HAVE ADEQUATE GREASE
PRIOR TO AND AFTER THE SEAMER IS IN WASHED DOWN. BOTH OPERATIONS INITIATE TWO (2)
GREASE CYCLES, WITH THE VACUUM CYCLE COMBINED.
LOW GREASE LEVEL SENSOR OPERATION
THE GREASE LEVEL IN THE LINCOLN CONTAINER, IS MONITORED WITH A LIMIT SWITCH. THE
SWITCH WILL BE ACTUATED BY THE CHAIN AS THE GREASE LEVEL GOES DOWN TO THE
MINIMUM
GREASE LEVEL.
VARIABLE SPEED INCHING MECHANISM SYSTEM OPERATION AND
CONTROL LOGIC FOR 180S SEAMERS
CONTROL COMPONENTS FOR THE OPERATION OF THE
INCHING MECHANISM SYSTEM CONSIST OF THE FOL-
LOWING;
REVERSING STARTER AND MOTOR FOR DIRECTION OF
ROTATION OF THE SEAMING TURRET, A 24 VDC TOOTHED
CLUTCH FOR ENGAGING THE SEAMING TURRET, A PEN-
DANT STATION CONSISTING OF OPERATORS FOR
CHOOSING DIRECTION OF ROTATION, ENGAGING THE
CLUTCH, AND ENGAGING THE FILLER DRIVE CLUTCH.
VARIABLE SPEED INCHING MECHANISM
GENERAL INFORMATION
THE VARIABLE SPEED INCHING MECHANISM SYSTEM IS
EMPLOYED AS A MEANS OF MANUALLY ROTATING THE
SEAMING TURRET FOR SEAMER MAINTENANCE. THE
SPEED OF ROTATION IS ADJUSTABLE BY TURNING THE
HANDLE ON THE VARIATOR DRIVE. WHEN THE INCH
