Viewing Chassis Status Detail
You can expand individual items in the SmartLine Chassis window to
show a graphical front panel display. Your expanded selection appears
with additional details. You can obtain an expanded view in one of the
following ways:
•
Double-click on the device name in the SmartLine Chassis
window.
•
Select (highlight) a device in the SmartLine Chassis
window and select Expanded View in the Control menu.
•
Select (highlight) a device in the SmartLine Chassis
window and click on the Exp View button on the Button
Bar.
Figure 5-7 shows the expanded view window for a SmartLine 16
MAU. Figure 5-8 shows the expanded view window for a SmartLine
8122 Fiber Optic Repeater. Note that these windows show the
selected devices graphically, including current DIP switch settings
and LED activity. In other words, except for the cabling, you would
get the same results by looking at the actual front panel of your
selection.
Note that the expanded view windows may have a scroll box where
you can make selections and a Port Status box where the status for
your selection(s) appear.
The most common method of making a selection is by using the
mouse. When you select a particular LED, Port, or Switch, its
associated status appears in the window.
