Rack Return

Operator Manual

6. If door is closed and chamber is empty:

a. Door automatically opens.

b. Accessory rack is indexed into chamber.

c. Door automatically closes.

7. If door is open and chamber is empty:

a. Press Command button to close door.

b. Once door is closed, door automatically opens.

c. Accessory rack is indexed into chamber.

d. Door automatically closes.

8. If door is closed and chamber is not empty:

a. Door stays closed.

b. Accessory rack will be indexed into chamber once chamber is empty.

9. If door is open and chamber is not empty:

a. Press Command button to close door.

b. Door stays closed.

c. Accessory rack will be indexed into chamber once chamber is empty.

With ATLAS WAV System

This procedure is used if the rack return is equipped

with an ATLAS Workflow Automation Vehicle

and the

automation

is set on load side of rack return

If automation is set only on unload side of rack return, refer to

Section 4.6, Loading Rack Return Manually

IMPORTANT:

Ensure the area in front of rack return is clear to allow ATLAS Workflow Automation Vehicle to move freely. Refer

to ATLAS WAV System equipment drawing (10375988) for more details.

1. Ask for a rack pick up (refer to ATLAS WAV System

Operator Manual

2. ATLAS Workflow Automation Vehicle brings rack and indexes it in the chamber when rack return is ready to be

loaded.

4.8 Unloading Rack Return

Without Automation

1. If optional status indicator lighting is present: light is white on rack return unload side.
2. If using a transfer cart, proceed as follows:

(if not using a transfer cart, proceed to

Step 3

)

a. Roll transfer cart to unload side of the rack return.

b. Dock transfer cart on rack return. Door automatically opens.

OR
Dock transfer cart on rack return and press the Command button to open door.

c. Pull rack from chamber onto transfer cart.

d. Undock transfer cart and roll away from hands-free sensor range.

e. Press Command button to close door.
