Operator Manual

AMSCO

Rack Return

OR
Visually check inside the chamber to ensure that it is empty.

2. If using a transfer cart, proceed as follows:

(if not using a transfer cart, proceed to

Step 3

)

a. Install accessory rack on transfer cart.

b. Roll transfer cart to load side of the rack return.

c. Dock transfer cart on rack return. Door automatically opens.

OR
Dock transfer cart on rack return or feed-in conveyor (if SCS Conveyor System is present) and press the

Command button to open door.

d. Carefully push rack inside chamber.

e. Undock transfer cart and roll away from hands-free sensor range.

f. Press Command button to close door.

NOTE: If optional status indicator lighting is present: light is off on load side and white on unload side once

both doors are closed.

3. If not using a transfer cart, proceed as follows:

a. Press Command button to open door.

b. Move accessory rack inside the chamber.

IMPORTANT: Ensure decontaminated instruments passing from soiled side to clean side are installed in a clean

container to avoid contact with the rack return chamber.

c. Press Command button to close door.

NOTE: If optional status indicator lighting is present: light is off on load side and white on unload side once

both doors are closed.

4.7 Loading Rack Return With an Automation System

With SCS Conveyor System

This procedure is used if the washer/disinfector is equipped

with an SCS Conveyor System

and the

automation is set

on load side of rack return

.

If automation is set only on unload side of rack return, refer to

Section 4.6, Loading Rack Return Manually

.

1. Install accessory rack on transfer cart.
2. Roll transfer cart next to feed-in conveyor on load side of the rack return.
3. Apply brakes and ensure appropriate transfer cart wheels are locked and swiveling is not possible.
4. Slightly push rack toward edge of feed-in conveyor equipped with a transfer cart adapter.

NOTE: Feed-in conveyor is equipped with a transfer cart adaptor (accessory) to allow easy and safe transfer of

accessory rack from cart to conveyor. Refer to

SCS Conveyor System Uncrating/Installation Instructions

(P920506633) for more detailed information.

5. If accessory rack is transferred to a non-motorized conveyor, keep pushing accessory rack until it reaches edge

of rack return.
If accessory rack is transferred to a motorized conveyor, conveyor motorized rollers route and place accessory

rack in proper position near rack return load door.
