9.3 Display Descriptions
Step through the selections by pressing the Mode key
OPACITY/DUST display Normally this will display the opacity value in % or
dust concentrations in mg/m
3
dependent on which has
been selected. Opacity readings will be in the range of
00.0% to 100%. Dust readings will range from 0 to
999mg/m
3
.
Note
In either mode the decimal point will flash if the values are out of range.
In cases where a serious fault occurs, an error notice will appear on the
display showing a leading 'Er' followed by a coded error number. Contact Land
Instruments International service department.
CAL CHECK display
'c'- Always displays the value in terms of opacity. This
display is used for calibration audits (Checks on zero
and span).
SELECT UNITS display 'OPAC' - 'duSt' by toggling the F2 & F3 keys, either
opacity or dust readings will be displayed and output.
DUST GAIN 'F' - This display is only entered if dust is selected.
The gain value can be set between 1 and 9999. This is
represented on the display as 0.001 and 9.99.
SET ALARM 'A'- High alarm limits in the range of 1.0 to 99.9 % for
opacity or 1 to 999mg/m
3
for dust can be set.
Note
This limit will require resetting if the output option is changed. i.e. dust to
opacity.
SET RANGE 'r'- Adjusts the current loop output upper span value
(20mA) to be represented as a percentage opacity
value of between 10 to 100%, in steps of 5%, and dust
between 10 to 1000mg/m
3
in steps of 10mg/m
3
.
Note
Due to limitations on the display a current loop output of 1000 is shown as
999
TIME CONSTANT 't' - This is a signal damping facility adjustable
between 0 and 999 seconds. The recommended setting
should just allow variations of the signal value to be
distinguished but avoid rapid spikes and depressions.
The time constant number represents the time
response of the output to reach 90% of the final step
change value. (Default value=1)
INTENSITY 'i' - This is an arbitrary figure between 0 and 999.
The factory alignment figure at a fixed pathlength
(user selected) is 500. Over range is indicated by the
decimal points on the display flashing.
