6.2.13.4 AIR FILTER
If the air filter element used in this engine is of the dry type, it must never be
oiled.
1. Release the air filter cover (1);
2. Remove the element (2);
3. Blow air (3) through the element from the outside using compressed air at 42 - 71 psi
(0.29 - 0.49 Mpa, 3.0 - 5.0 kgf / cm2) to remove the particles. Use the lowest possible
pressure to remove the dust without damaging the element;
4. If the air filter is equipped with a double element, remove and replace the internal
element (1).
NOTE: The internal element should not be removed when cleaning the external element.
The internal element is used to prevent the entry of dust into the engine by intervening
on the external element.
5. Clean the inside of the air filter cover;
6. Remove the element in the air filter box (4)
7. Refit the air filter cover, making sure that the arrow (5) on the cover matches the
arrow on the box (6).
8. Hang up the cover (1).
IMPORTANT :
•
Make sure that the attachment clip on the cover is tight. If it is loose, dust and dirt could
be sucked in, wearing the cylinder and the seal ring with a consequent decrease in
engine output.
