Bootstrap Configuration
The bootstrap feature allows you to download new software and
configuration settings when you boot up the switch.
To configure the bootstrap settings on the switch, perform the following
procedure:
1. Click on the Tools menu tab and select Bootstrap from the sub-menu.
The Bootstrap Configuration page is displayed, as shown in Figure
55.

2. Adjust the parameters as desired. To change a parameter setting,
select the option from the pull-down menu and click the Apply
button. The parameters are described below.
Boot Mode
Allows the user to determine how the switch should boot up.
There are two boot load options: local and remote.
Local
If you choose the local boot load mode, the switch boots
using the management software that is saved in the switch
memory. This is the default boot load mode. If you are
going to use the local boot load mode, you do not need to
configure any of the other parameters on the Bootstrap
Configuration Menu and the switch will not download any
files when it boots up.
