Creating a Port-based VLAN

To create a new port-based VLAN, perform the following procedure:

Note

This procedure assumes that the switch is set to the Port-based
VLAN Type. For instructions on how to change the VLAN Type on the
switch, refer to

Setting the VLAN Type

on page 114.

1. From the Main Menu, type

to select Advanced Switch Configuration

Menu.

2. From the Advanced Switch Configuration Menu, type

to select

VLAN Management.

The VLAN Management Menu is displayed.

3. From the VLAN Management Menu, type

to select Set VLAN Type.

The following prompt is displayed.

Set VLAN type (P/8)>

4. From the VLAN Management Menu, type

to Create VLAN.

The VLAN Creation Menu is displayed in Figure 29.
