  ATEX (Zone 1 and 21 purging system installation) 

 
The GasEye Cross Duct (Ex1 version only) can be operated in Zone 1 and 21 and 
provide the optical radiation to Zone 0 and 20 per mark II (1)/2G [Ex pxb op is T6 Ga] 
IIC Gb and II (1)/2D [Ex pxb op is T6 Da] IIIC Db.  
 
Any other ways of using the GasEye Cross Duct are forbidden. 

  Basic requirements and safe use 

 
The manufacturer will not be liable for damage resulting from incorrect installation, 
failure to maintain the device in a suitably functional condition, or use of the device 
other than for its intended purpose. 
 
Installation  should  be  carried  out  by  qualified  personnel  having  the  necessary 
authorization  to  install  electrical  and  pressure  measuring  devices.  The  installer  is 
responsible for performing the installation in accordance with these instructions and 
with  the  electromagnetic  compatibility  and  safety  regulations  and  standards 
applicable to the type of installation. 
 
The device should be configured appropriately for the purpose for which it is to be 
used. Incorrect configuration may cause erroneous functioning, leading to damage to 
the device or an accident. 
 
Installation of device should be performed with particular care, in accordance with the 
regulations and standards applicable to that type of installation. 
 
The general rules for connecting and using pressurized enclosure should conform to 
the rules and standards for equipment with Ex p as specified in:  
 

-  IEC  60079-14:  Explosive  atmospheres.  Electrical  installations  design, 

selection and erection.  

-  IEC 60079-17: Explosive atmospheres. Electrical installations inspection and 

maintenance. 
 

The GasEye is designed and manufactured in accordance with following standards: 
 

-  EN IEC 60079-0:2018; 
-  EN 60079-2:2014; 
-  EN 60079-26:2015 
-  EN 60079-28:2015
