III. SETTING UP THE UNIT
III. 1. Installing the battery
OSIRIS
units are supplied with the battery not installed.
To install the battery:
•
Remove the cover plate
,
•
Connect the battery and insert it in its housing,
•
Reinstall the cover plate, ensuring that it is fully
engaged.
III. 2. Connections
O
xygen supply to
OSIRIS 2
•
Connect the
OSIRIS 2
input
to a
source of oxygen
via the O
2
supply tube.
If the oxygen is from a cylinder, the cylinder must be
equipped with a reducer adapted to supplying medical
oxygen.
The nominal supply of O
2
must be between 280 kPa (2.8
bar) and 600 kPa (6 bar).
Y
Connect the gas supply hose to the ventilator connector
before connecting it on the network (or cylinder) side.
To disconnect (after shutting down the unit), start by
disconnecting the hose from the network (or cylinder)
connector.
Electrical supply connection
•
When running off the mains supply, connect the
special electrical unit (supplied by
Air Liquide Medical
Systems
).
The electrical powersupply also charges the internal
battery, whether OSIRIS 2
is in use or not
(battery
charging time: 10 hours).
Setting up the patient circuit
Two types of patient circuit can be used on the
OSIRIS
range.
Single-use patient circuit
A single-use patient circuit, composed of:
•
a single-use patient tube (1) together with its control
tube (2),
•
a single-use expiratory valve already connected to the
tubes above (3).
All our single use patient circuits are assembled in their
original packaging.
Setting up
•
Connect one end of the ringed tube onto the outlet of
the
OSIRIS 2
(standard conical outlet, 22 mm diameter).
• Whenever possible, fit a new bacteriological filter
onto the "patient" output of the expiratory valve.
