4.6.15 Keeping alarm settings and thresholds
When changing ventilation mode, and depending on the case, the alarm settings and thresholds may
be kept or discarded.
There are 3 scenarios:
Hflow
When a Hflow session is launched, the settings and thresholds of this function are applied, without
taking into account the settings of the previous mode. However, the previous settings are not deleted.
When a user interrupts the oxygenation session and launches another mode, the setting values and
patient thresholds return to their previous configuration.
Example with an oxygen therapy session using the PSV mode:

mode with FiO

2.
Switch to Hflow with FiO
2
set at 50%.
3.
When the oxygen therapy session is completed, the user launches the
PSV
mode again. FiO
2
returns to its previous setting (30%).
Note:
The FiO
2
settings of the oxygen therapy session are saved for the next launch.
Emergency modes
The emergency modes consist of the
CPV
ventilation function.
This function does not apply the settings and thresholds of the previous ventilation modes: the set-
tings and thresholds are deleted and are replaced by the default values.
An example with the use of

following the
(A)VCV
mode:

3.
When the cardiopulmonary ventilation session is completed, the user launches the
(A)VCV
mode again. FiO
2
is reset with the mode's default setting (50%), not with the previous setting
(30%).
