U2701A/U2702A USB Modular Oscilloscopes User’s Guide

Acquisition Mode

The figure below shows the Acquisition Mode on the soft front 
panel.

The U2701A/U2702A scopes have the following acquisition 
modes.

To reduce the displayed random noise, select 

Average

 

acquisition. This mode will decrease the screen refresh rate.

To avoid waveform aliasing, select 

Peak Detect

 acquisition. 

Peak Detect mode captures the maximum and minimum values 
of a waveform over multiple acquisitions.

with normal decimating at slower sweep speeds, 
no averaging.

Peak Detect acquisition mode is 

for displaying 

narrow pulses that occur

Average acquisition mode is for reducing noise 
and increasing resolution (at all sweep speeds 
without bandwidth or rise time degradation).
