U2701A/U2702A Modular Oscilloscopes User’s Guide

Trigger Controls

The trigger determines when the oscilloscope starts to obtain 
data and display a waveform. When the trigger is set up 
correctly, it can convert unstable displays or blank screens into 
meaningful waveforms. The oscilloscope acquires data while 
waiting for the trigger condition to occur. After it detects a 
trigger, the oscilloscope continues to obtain enough data so it 
can draw the waveform on the display.
