3.1 First Use
WARNING: Safety
Obey the safety instructions when you do the procedures of this chapter.
IMPORTANT:
Some procedures in this chapter must be done by an approved technician. For other procedures in this
chapter we recommend to do the procedures with your approved dealer.
Do the procedures in the same sequence shown in this chapter.
Do the procedures in the first paragraphs of this chapter to connect the machine to the tractor for each
(new) tractor you use with the machine.
3.1.1 Calculate the Maximum Permitted Vertical Load on the Coupling Point
Before starting the procedure
The vertical load on the coupling point must be less than the maximum permitted vertical load on the
coupling point.
Procedure
1.
Find the A-0 value on the VIN plate of the machine.
2.
Find the S-value on the type plate of the ball-head or towing eye.
3.
Find the value of the permitted load from the hitch of the tractor.
4.
From these three values, take the lowest value. This value is the maximum vertical load that is
permitted on the coupling point.
3.1.2 Calculate the Maximum Permitted Horizontal Load on the Coupling Point
Before starting the procedure
The maximum horizontal load on the coupling point must be less than 46 kN.
Procedure
Calculate the maximum horizontal load (D) as follows: D = g × (T × R) ÷ (T + R)
• Gravitational constant (g) = 9,81 m/s²
• T = Total mass of the tractor in metric tonnes (t)
• R = Trailed mass in metric tonnes (t).
3.1.3 Adjust the Height of the Drawbar
Before starting the procedure
WARNING: Weight.
Make sure that the load of the machine, on the drawbar of the tractor (see data plate) is
not more than the maximum load of the tractor headstock.
CAUTION:
Only the manufacturer or an approved person can change the height of the drawbar and
thus the height of the hitch.
Procedure
1.
Put the machine on a clean and level surface on the support foot and chock the wheels.
