3.5. FireWire Bus (J201, J202, J203)
The FireWire bus is the high-speed communications media to the Ndrive HL, operating
at 400 megabits per second. All command and configuration information is sent via the
FireWire. All three ports are effectively in parallel, allowing any port to be used when
daisy-chaining the Ndrive HLs together or with other devices such as the Ndrive CP, HP,
Nstep, Nservo or Npaq. The FireWire bus power is independent of the Ndrive HL power.
Should a drive fail, communication will be maintained with the other devices.

* Port 0, 1, and 2, respectively, as represented in the table by a “ # ”.
Pin 1 of the FireWire connector’s J201-J203, the power pin, are protected by a re-settable
semiconductor fuse. If an over-current condition occurs, the device will open to protect
against the overload. To reset the over-current device, remove the overload condition.
