2.5.1. Encoder Phasing
Figure 2-13 illustrates the required encoder phasing for clockwise motor rotation, or
positive forcer movement, through the stationary magnet track. If the motor is not visible,
or maybe not be manually moved by hand, it maybe actively driven open loop, under
program control, via the A3200\Programs\Samples\MsetDebug.Pgm. This program will
move the motor in a positive direction, allowing the position of the encoder to be
monitored in the Nstat.exe utility program. It will be displayed on the main Diagnostics
tab as the “Pos Fdbk” item, as shown in Figure 2-14. The program should cause the
encoder to produce a more positive position value as the program executes. If it indicates
a more negative value, swap the connections to the controllers SIN and the SIN-N
encoder inputs, or you may invert the sign of the CfgFbkVelMultiplier and
CfgFbkPosMultiplier axis parameters. However, if this axis is configured for dual loop,
two feedback devices, one for position and one for velocity feedback, invert only the one
axis parameter associated with the incorrectly phased feedback device.
