Chapter 5: Operation
l
LowBatteyVoltageLevel
This parameter will only be displayed if a robot uses lead-acid batteries. This is the bat-
tery voltage below which the queueing manager will no longer assign new jobs to that
robot. If a robot is below this voltage when it completes a job, it will be sent to dock.
The robot will continue completing its assigned jobs until it reaches the voltage settings
in
Docking > AutoDockVoltage
.
NOTE
: A robot will drive to its dock any time its voltage falls below the
Docking > AutoDockVoltage setting, even if it is performing a job.
Adept recommends that there be at least 1 V difference between Low-
BatteryVoltageLevel and AutoDockVoltage, in order to ensure the robot does
not drive to the dock while performing a job.
NOTE
: Robots will only dock if AutoDock is set to True.
l
LowStateOfCharge
If a robot uses NiMH batteries, then this is the state-of-charge (SOC) below which the
queueing manager will no longer assign new jobs to that robot. If a robot is below this
state of charge when it completes a job, it will be sent to dock.
The robot will continue completing its assigned jobs until it reaches the SOC settings in
Docking > AutoDockStateOfCharge
.
NOTE
: A robot will drive to its dock any time that its state of charge falls
below Docking > AutoDockStateOfCharge setting even, if it is performing a
job.
Adept recommends that there be at least a 10% difference between Low-
StateOfCharge and AutoDockStateOfCharge, in order to ensure the robot does
not drive to the dock while performing a job.
NOTE
: Robots will only dock if AutoDock is set to True.
l
DecisionFactors
If multiple robots are available for selection, the queueing manager will make the deci-
sion based on this factor. The choices are:
l
Closest robot
This will pick the robot closest to the destination.
l
Least active robot (idle time)
This will pick the robot that has been idle the longest.
l
Charge state of the robot
This will pick the robot with the highest charge level.
l
DefaultDropoffPriority
The default priority to use in all dropoff requests to the queueing manager.
l
DefaultPickupPriority
The default priority to use in all pickup requests to the queueing manager.
