Chapter 4: Configuration
This chapter covers the data connections and configuration of the Adept SmartFleet EX. When
you are using a Adept SmartFleet EX, any configuration changes that you make will be stored
on that appliance, rather than on a robot.
4.1 Ethernet Connection
A wired Ethernet connection between the Adept SmartFleet EX and your network is required.
The Adept SmartFleet EX has two built-in Ethernet ports:
l
a Maintenance port (Maint Eth)
The Maintenance port is always enabled and permanently set to the IP address 1.2.3.4.
Use the Maintenance port to initially connect to and configure the unit. After you con-
figure the Adept SmartFleet EX, use the LAN port to connect the unit to your network.
l
an Ethernet port.
This port is used to connect the unit to your LAN.
NOTE:
Contact your System Administrator for assistance configuring the Adept
SmartFleet EX for your network.
4.2 Overview
To connect to and configure the Adept SmartFleet EX, perform the following tasks:
l
Set the IP address on your PC.
l
Connect your PC to the Adept SmartFleet EX.
l
Connect to SetNetGo.
l
Configure the network settings for the LAN Ethernet port.
l
Enable SetNetGo and define login information.
l
Connect the Adept SmartFleet EX to your network.
These tasks are described in the sections that follow.
4.3 Setting the IP Address on Your PC
Configure a PC with the following network settings:

IP address = 1.2.3.x
where x is any number 1 through 254, except 4. See the
