1.1
Product Overview
The 8250A is a high-performance and general-purpose optical power meter containing the GPIB and USB
digital interfaces.
High-performance optical sensors for the 8230 and 8230E series (abbreviated as the 823* series) and optical
sensors for the TQ8210 and TQ8215 series (abbreviated as the 821* series) can be used in the 8250A. Various
connector-removable-type 823* series optical sensors are provided so appropriate sensors can be selected
according to the intended usage. To allow highly accurate measurements to be performed, 823* series sensor
is calibrated at a set wavelength and the wavelength sensitivity characteristics of each sensor are saved in a
sensor (Not including the 82311B without option 20 and 82321B without option 20). Because the 821* series
optical sensors can be used in the 8250A, a system constructed by TQ8215 can be used effectively.
Data measurements and automatic measurements can be performed easily in an R&D or production line by
using the supplied USB digital interface. This instrument can be used with a measurement system, which is
developed on DOS, by using the supplied GPIB digital interface. Because the remote commands for the
TQ8215 mode can be used in the 8250A in addition to the common remote commands for the 823* series,
the TQ8215 can be replaced easily by the 8250A. (Because the 8250A is not full compatible to the TQ8215
including functions, use the 8250A after confirming the operation.)
This instrument includes a 5-1/2 digit fluorescent display tube, which can be read easily regardless of the sur-
rounding brightness or darkness.
