The Volume Setup top tab lets you
select one of the four volume pre-
sets as the theater’s
Turn On Vol-
ume Preset . To store a volume pre-
set, press the Volume Store # .
This tab also permits you to raise or
lower the theater’s volume level by
pulling the
Volume Slider .
Finally, you can set the theater’s
Maximum Volume Level by adjust-
ing the Volume Limiter up or down.
All of these changes take place in
real-time.
The Solo/Info top tab details all the
information being worked through
the HTR-2400. Here you can also
see which speakers are active as the
channel buttons will be red. Please
note, that modes play a role in which
channels are active. Not all modes
provide 7.1 playback even if you
have set all 7.1 speakers active (dur-
ing speaker setup). If you want to
listen to just one speaker, press that
speaker. This is useful to determine
if speakers are out phase or if a
driver is blown.
The Tones top tab reveals two ad-
ditional tabs Speaker Group A and
Speaker Group B . Each group is
its own parametric tone control,
where both the frequency point and
level can be set for bass and treble.
You can select which speakers are
in which group or if speakers are in
both groups or neither group. For
example, front channels might be in
one group while surrounds are in
another. For better subwoofer con-
trol, you might only include the sub
in both groups with each group set
to a different frequency point (40Hz
and 60Hz) allowing you to adjust
bass across two frequency points.
The four tone presets hold frequen-
cies, levels and speakers per group.
