Preparations before fitting the joint unit

ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD)
The unit is sensitive to ESD. Before handling the
unit read the safety information in section

Cleaning agent: Isopropanol Clean the mounting surface of the joint unit and
the mating surface on the casting with isopropan-
ol. 2
Flange sealant: Loctite 574

Joint unit mounting surface is pointed out in the
figure.
Apply a thin layer of flange sealant to the mount-
ing surface. Do not contaminate the radial sealing
with sealant.
CAUTION
The connectors and the joint unit cables are
sensitive to mechanical damage. Handle the as-
sembly with care.

Refitting the axis-4 joint unit
Note Action
CAUTION
Axis-4 joint unit used for CRB 15000-5/0.95 has
the same appearance as that used for CRB 15000-
10/1.52 and CRB 15000-12/1.27. Do not mix the
joint units for different manipulator variants. Al-
ways check the mark or label on the joint units
before refitting.
