UEFI Boot 

 

The optimal default is

UEFI implements a new interface between operating systems and platform firmware 
at boot time. This feature allows to Enable/Disable UEFI boot from drives.

Boot Configuration Setup Prompt Timeout 

 

The failsafe and optimal default is

After you turn on power or reset your SBC the UEFI firmware is prompting for key 
input (see Chapter 1). This value defines the number of tenth of seconds to wait 
additionally for Setup activation key. 

65535 mean indefinite waiting. 0 means no wait (not recommended). 

  NOTE 

In newer firmware release than 005 this value defines the number of seconds instead of tenth of seconds.

7.2  CSM16 Module Information 

The 

CSM16 Module Information 

represents the version of the Compatibility16BIOS 

module implemented in this SBC UEFI firmware release. 

The Compatibility16BIOS can be seen as the runtime image of a previous legacy 
BIOS without the POST and Setup. The module provides runtime services and 
software and hardware routines required to maintain compatibility. It may also 
control the legacy hardware through traditional hardware interfaces like serial ports, 
parallel ports, keyboard, and PS2 mouse.
