Password Request For HDD
When security feature is enabled, whenever the system is powered on the HDD will
be locked and the SBC will ask for a password. The User password can be used to
unlock the HDD and continue booting. The HDD will remain unlocked until the
drive is powered off or reset.
NOTE
User will be asked entering User password individually for each drive secured.
The following screen shot shows the interaction to unlock the HDD when the SBC is
powered on.

8.3.12
User Password Lost
The HDD will remain locked when the password verification with User Password
fails.
After three bad attempts a user can either power cycle the SBC and tries again or
enter the Setup (press <F2>) to override User password via Master password
verification.
In Locked mode the drive will appear in the Setup normally displaying all the
information such as the drive model and serial numbers but will refuse to boot. The
Security Locked
status shown at Security screen is set to
Yes
.

Using the correct Master Password unlocks the HDD, clears the User Password and
disables the Security Feature.
