NOTES
AHCI and RAID mode require operating systems supporting it.
Selecting must be made carefully since mode switching once an operating system has already been
installed might not be easily possible.
Some features in this section like Hot Plug, Port Multiplier, Aggressive Link Power
Mode Select, Spin Up Device are dependent on SATA mode selection.
Serial ATA Port 0 / 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 Software Preserve
The first line informs about the connected SATA device or shows Empty if not
available.
The second line shows the devices
Software Preserve
capability once a SATA device is
connected.
The reset handling between the old legacy PATA and the new SATA interface has
significantly changed. In order to avoid losing important software settings in SATA
device without legacy driver knowledge, the Software Preserve feature ensures that
the value of important software settings is maintained across a reset or an
asynchronous loss of signal.
NOTE
UEFI firmware will turn this feature on by default if supported by SATA device.
