Chipset Setup Screen 73
The optimal default is
Slumber Mode
.
Aggressive Link Power Mode (ALPM) moves a SATA link to a very low power state
when during idle time (no I/O request). The SATA link is automatically set to active
power state once I/O requests are queued to that link.
Power savings come at the expense of disk latency. As such, ALPM should be used
only if the system experiences long periods of idle I/O time.
Disabled
Maximum performance but no power saving entered
Partial Mode
Allow transition to low power states with as small impact on
performance
Slumber Mode
Lowest power state, useful when an extended period of idle time
is expected
NOTES
Feature is not available in IDE mode.
Hot Plug feature is not available in Partial or Slumber mode.
Spin Up Device
The optimal default is
Disabled
.
When enabled, the SATA device will not spin up until the UEFI firmware issues a
specific command to do so. This limits the power consumption upon power on but
increases boot time.
When
Spin Up
feature is enabled for multiple SATA devices, the UEFI firmware tries
to set up Staggered Spin Up sequence further removing power demand on power on.
NOTES
Feature is not available in IDE mode.
Operation is subject to SATA device supporting it.
HDD Acoustic Power Management
The optimal default is
Disabled
.
