Lo a d i n g t h e R C M

Before you load the RCM, verify that:

✓

The SLS system is started and Sinter is
running.

See

SLS system start-up

on page 61. Be sure to

verify that the chiller is on and that compressed
air, nitrogen, and powder are all being supplied to
the SLS system.

✓

The RCM is clean, preheated (preferably),
plugged into the SLS system, and properly
docked in the RCM bay with the RCM door
closed.

To load the RCM

The following two steps summarize the
detailed RCM loading instructions found in

Loading and Unloading the RCM

starting on

page 129.

Put the Sinter
application in
Manual Operations
mode.

Click the

Man Ops

button on the main

Sinter

window toolbar, or select

Machine

Manual

Operations

Load (raise) the RCM:

Click the

Piston Contr

ol button on the

Man Ops toolbar.

In the Piston Control window, click the

Load

button.

If the

Load

button is dimmed, the RCM

might not be in a safe loading position in
the RCM bay. Open the RCM door and push
the RCM forward until you hear and feel it
contact the back of the SLS system frame.
Close the door and try the Load button
again.
