SECTION 4B - USER PROGRAMMING
block of pagers to be assigned to consecutive Users with a single
command.
Enter the capcode of the pager. If assigning a range of capcodes,
enter the lowest numbered capcode. The capcode is the actual paging
address number to which the pager responds and it is stamped or
labeled somewhere on the body of the pager. Sometimes an address is
shown as a number that includes the function digit - do not enter the
function digit. The capcode always has a fixed number of digits in it
as shown below. If the address is longer than that, the last number is
probably the function digit and should be omitted from the capcode.

It is not necessary to enter leading zeros nor will they be shown when
User Display is selected.
Enter the User number that will be assigned the capcode, followed by
CR. If programming a range of capcodes to Users, also enter the number
of the last User that should be included in the range. If programming
a single User, enter a CR for the "through" User.
See the examples below for more on how to assign ranges.
Function (U)
Assign the pager function digits through this selection. Be sure that
the function digit selected is compatible with the
numeric/alphanumeric attribute. Section 9, "Quick Reference", gives
more information on what functions may be assigned to specific pager
types.
Msg type (M)
This attribute specifies whether message data will be sent in numeric
format or alphanumeric format to the pager. The numeric format
characters are generally limited to the numbers 0 to 9, space and a
dash. The alphanumeric format also includes the full alphabet and
punctuation. See Section 8 - "Quick Reference" for more details on the
pager character sets.
Answer Yes to specify alphanumeric data, No to specify numeric data.
Format (F)
Each User is assigned one of the eight Format blocks that are
configured in "System - Paging Formats".
Type a number 0 to 7 to select which Paging format will be assigned.
