SECTION 4A - SYSTEM PROGRAMMING
From the Main Menu, type S to select the System Programming.
SYSTEM MENU
The System Menu is rather large, but each of the selections listed can be
quickly and easily programmed. Type the letter appearing next to the
desired menu selection.
Each of the menu selections (except Call counting and Repertory Msgs)
display the current values one by one. A question mark prompt follows each
of these values. If the current setting is correct, press CR and that value
will be kept. This allows you to quickly review current settings without
changing them. If the setting is not correct, you can select a new setting
and the display will be updated to show that value.

Hayes Compatible Installed
■ Modem operation: initial setting is "N" for No modem installed or
Normal operation ■
Answering "Y" (yes) causes the Model 16 to attempt to control an
external Hayes compatible modem. This operational mode starts as soon
as you exit the programming mode.
If you answer "Y", you are prompted to set the modem initialization
and hangup strings. The modem initialization string is sent to the
modem following power up or at any time the modem status is in
question. The modem hangup string is sent to the modem to force a
hangup at the completion of a call and prior to sending the
initialization string.
See Section 4D for more details.
