Inspection, Maintenance and Testing
Warning
Return the MATRx plus System to the manufacturer if there are signs of suspicious use or evidence of tampering.
Caution
Do not use damaged sensors or system components.
Do not use an Oximeter sensor with exposed optical components.
Discontinue use if a Functional Check fails or if any sensor is damaged.
The MATRx plus System, including the packaging for all single-use components, should be inspected for damage
before and after use. It is particularly important to perform a Functional Check if there are any signs of damage to the
unit or reports of damage from the patient or other users.
The expected service life of the Tablet, Recorder and the MP is 2 years. There are no additional instructions for
maintaining the MATRx plus in regards to electromagnetic disturbances for the duration of the expected service life.

A Functional Check should be performed prior to dispensing the MATRx plus System to the patient and following
the cleaning and disinfection procedure. A mandatory Functional Check following patient selection is performed
for each patient study.

This test will verify the following:
Before starting the Functional Check, all system components must be attached
and connected to the Recorder (see
Using the MATRx plus System
).
Turn the Tablet ON.
Press the Admin icon on the bottom of the Welcome screen.
Enter your password to access the Admin Menu.
Select Functional Check.
The Functional Check is performed using both the Tablet and
Recorder as follows:
After entering the Functional Check, you will be guided through a series of
steps that require confirmation of function.
Note
During any step of the Functional Check you may press the Back button to return
to the Admin Menu.
