Installation
Requirements for the NAS device
The NAS device must offer the following performance features to ensure
proper safety and acceptable performance when using the i.Profiler
plus
.

Support 100BaseT or 1000BaseT Ethernet. For safety reasons, a USB
connection is not permitted with the i.Profiler
plus
•
Crossover cable (crossed network cable) or an uncrossed cable with a
crossover adapter for direct connection to the i.Profiler
plus
.
•
UTP CAT5e cable with RJ-45 plug at least 3 m in length so that the NAS
device can be set up outside of the reach of the customer (see the
safety information above).
Recommendations for the NAS device
•
Memory capacity: This should be at least as large as the memory capacity
of the i.Profiler
plus
hard drive.
•
Data backup: To ensure permanent redundancy in data backups, we
recommend using a data backup software of your choice with the NAS
device.
•
You can use multiple NAS devices as a data backup solution. If you use
two or more NAS devices at the same time, however, a switch or router
will be required. The switch/router can be connected directly to the
i.Profiler
plus
or to another point in the LAN. The user is responsible for
configuring this arrangement.
