Scratches / Bent/ Damage
Replace.
Oil seal
Excessive oil leakage
Replace.
3. Hold the motorcycle in an upright position and
apply the front brake.
4. Check:
Operation
Pump the front fork up and down for several
times.
Unsmooth operation
Repair.
Refer to “FRONT FORK” in CHAPTER 7.
FRONT FORK ADJUSTMENT
Always adjust each fork to the same setting.
Uneven adjustment can cause poor handling
and loss of stability.
Securely support the motorcycle so there is
no danger of it falling over.
Spring preload
1. Adjust:

Turn the adjuster 1 in or out.
Turnning

Spring preload is
increased.

decreased.
Adjuster position:
Standard: 3
Minimum: 1
Maximum: 5

Setting position
Grooves are provided to show the adjusting
level.
Always keep the adjustment level equal on
both forks.
Never turn the adjuster beyond the maximum
or minimum setting.
