Fax Overview
A WorkCentre 6400X or 6400XF printer can send a fax in one of three ways:
•
Fax : Document is scanned and sent directly to a fax machine (phone number).
• Server Fax : Document is scanned and sent through an Ethernet network to a fax server, which
sends the fax on to a fax machine (phone number).
•
Internet Fax
: Document is scanned and emailed to a recipient (email address).
Enabling and Configuring Fax Services
Before you can send a fax from a WorkCentre 6400X or 6400XF printer, you must enable fax services
and provide information about your fax server and email server in CentreWare IS.
