Faded printouts with multiple colors
faded.
1.
Verify that the toner cartridges meet specifications, and replace
them if necessary.
2.
Replace the paper with a recommended size and type, and confirm
that your control panel and print driver settings are correct. For
details, see
Supported Paper
on page 38.
3.
Adjust the paper type settings. For details, see
Adjusting Paper Type
on page 83.
4.
Adjust the bias voltage offset for the affected paper type. For details,
see
Adjusting the Voltage Offset
on page 84.
5.
Adjust the altitude setting of the printer. For details, see
Adjusting
the Altitude
on page 84.
6.
If moist, remove the paper from the tray, and replace it with new dry
paper.
7.
Condensation inside the printer causes partial blanks or creased
paper.
•
Turn on the printer and leave it on for at least one hour to get rid of
the condensation.
•
Enable Dew Prevention. From the control panel, select
Menu
>
Admin Menu
>
System Settings
>
Dew Prevention
>
Enabled
, then
press
OK
.
Colors Too Light or Too Dark
The print or color density is too light,
missing, or the background is foggy.
1.
Verify that the paper you are using is the correct type for the printer
and is loaded properly.
2.
Verify that the paper loaded in the tray matches the paper type
selected at the control panel and in the print driver.
3.
Print the Demo Page. For details, see
Printing Reports
on page 22.
If the Demo Page looks correct, the printer is printing properly. Your
application or incorrect settings in the print driver are probably
causing the print-quality problems.
4.
If the Demo Page did not print correctly, open and close Cover A to
cause the printer to perform an automatic color calibration.
5.
Perform the Clean Color Density Sensor procedure. For details, see
Cleaning the Density Sensors
on page 77.
Color around the edge of printing is
incorrect.
Colors are blurry or there is white area
around objects.
Adjust the color registration. For details, see
Color Registration
on page
82.
