For 157 and 314 systems with a SRM/BFM configuration, recovery faults will require you to clear all
sheets manually. Sheets are not purged to the top tray. To learn how to clear paper jams in the SRM,
refer to
Clearing Jams in the Sheet Retime Module .
There are a few rare cases in which sheets can fall from the Compiler Arms onto the stacker. Check your
output for any duplicates. The status message informs the user to mark the stack and check output for
duplicates.
Paper jam notification
When paper becomes jammed anywhere in the paper path, the Xerox Nuvera notifies you by one or
more of the following:
• a text notification in the status area of the User Interface, describing the location of the jam.
Double-clicking the notification will launch a window providing more information about the problem.
• a machine "mimic," or pictorial representation of the machine on the UI screen, depicting the location
of the jam.
• a steady or blinking Attention Light.

Engines
During paper jam recovery, the two print engines coordinate automatically so that after both paper
paths are cleared, the job can start printing at the correct position.
Clearing jams in the BFM Plus Area 2
When accessing a jam clearance in area 2, gently open the Bypass Unit cover to the first stop.
Warning
When you raise the Bypass Unit cover to clear a paper jam, do NOT raise the Bypass Unit cover beyond
the first stop.The Bypass Top Cover may open suddenly, causing a risk of injury to anyone standing
behind the finisher.
Tip
An unclearable jam situation may occur that requires service intervention. To minimize this occurrence,
for any jam condition, clear the offending jam and then check and clear area 6 of the print engine before
closing door for cycle up.
