Strength
The Strength function calculates the color strength of the
measured sample compared to the current standard. Strength is
calculated using the method selected in the instrument
configuration (Apparent, Chromatic, or Tristimulus). Once
measured, the color data can be calculated and displayed for
color at equivalent strength (@ 100%). The strength to achieve
minimum Delta E* can also be calculated and displayed.
Several operations available in Strength are identical to those
available in QA. Therefore, the discussion of these operations
is not repeated for Strength . For information covering Project
Selection, Standard Selection, Storage Operation, Tagging
Operation, Pass/Fail Operation, Sample Tools, and Viewing the
Reflectance Graph, refer to the QA function.

Sample difference values or
words appear indicating
color direction.
This area displays the
sample’s strength % and
method. If Chromatic is set,
a wavelength (i.e., 420
λ
)
appears indicating the
calculation wavelength.
