7.2 Sample preparation

Screw the OxiTop
®
measuring heads onto the measuring vessels
and close them tightly.
NOTE
Never use joint grease or other lubricants for your OxiTop
®
measuring heads. Some of these products contain solvents that
can cause severe damage to the plastic housing of the measuring
head.
The sealing of the measuring vessels is perfectly adequate
without grease. However, you should always wipe off heavy
contamination and particles on the sealing surfaces of the rubber
sleeves and OxiTop
®
measuring heads. WTW accepts no liability
for damage due to the use of joint grease.
7.3 Starting the measurement
CAUTION
If, despite all precautionary measures, the OxiTop
®
Control
OC 110 displays a pressure of -1000 hPa (pressure > 1350
hPa), the actual pressure may already be much higher.
Terminate the measurement immediately:

Wear protective equipment (face shield, protective clothing,
gloves).

Wrap the bottle in a thick towel.

Vent the bottle.
SELECT ACTION menu (com-
munication with the measuring
heads):
Preselected:
- Start sample .
The automatically assigned
sample number (YY/MM/DD
and sequential number) is
given in the header line of the
display.
Additionally displayed information:

Type of the measurement, run duration (setting see sec-
tion 9 GLP/TOOLS, page 57), measuring range, end date,
Id number.

GLP display => the GLP function (see section 9 GLP/
TOOLS, page 57) is switched on.
