Isolation
Contactor
Off When
Needed
(See p. 6-5)
The isolation contac-
tor was not pulled in
by the control when
required by the weld
schedule.
The instruction to activate the
isolation contactor (Function
#52) was missing from the
weld schedule.
Verify that the schedule
contains Function #52.
Isolation contactor is con-
trolled by the weld control and
driven by a single solid-state
relay. The weld processor
signal is based on the status
of the CONTROL STOP and
WELD/NO WELD Inputs.
(Voltage must be present at
these inputs to allow the weld
processor to open or close
the isolation contactor.)
Use the I/O Status display on
the DEP-100S to verify that the
inputs are high (1) when
required.
Verify that the Ready to Weld
signal was high (1) when
required.
For externally-powered
controls, an internal control
transformer fuse is blown.
Check fuses; replace as
necessary.
The solid-state relay is faulty.
Replace relay.
The instruction to activate the
isolation contactor was exe-
cuted, but the control was
unable to pull in the contactor,
due to incorrect or loose wir-
ing to the output module.
Check the wiring diagram that
came with your control for
proper I/O designations. Verify
that all wiring connections are
secure.
Faulty output module.
Replace module.
