SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
General instructions
1.
Maintenance of the water boiler, including descaling, should only be carried out by trained
technical personnel.
2.
Always ensure that the main water supply valve of the machine is opened before start-up and
closed after shutdown.
3.
The approved, built-in safety devices prevent excessive pressure and temperature increases in the
water boiler. Should the safety valves respond, the machine must be disconnected immediately in
order to prevent machine damage.
4.
Should the seals on the boiler lid leak, they must be replaced. Never tighten the clamping ring.
Deformed clamping rings must be replaced.
Inform WMF customer service and do not switch the machine on until the fault has been eliminated.
Machine shutdown
1.
Machine that are shut down for an extended period of time must be drained to prevent frost
damage.
In such cases, WMF customer service must be informed promptly.
2.
After several weeks of shutdown, we recommend that the fully automatic cleaning cycle be run at
least twice before start-up of the machine.
Technical boiler data
see machine data plate
The water boiler meets the regulations governing steam boilers as well as the technical rules on steam
boilers. The water boiler does not require registration or a permit. Each water boiler supplied has been
subjected to a water pressure test with 4,2 bar overpressure.
In accordance with the regulations and corresponding technical rules, the operator of these machines is
responsible for the careful maintenance and inspection of the safety devices.
Preventive measures against consequential machine damage
Any technical device, particularly larger fully automatic machines operated without supervision, is a
potential source of danger.
Therefore, we recommended that the operator takes appropriate measures for damage prevention in
accordance with local regulations or existing operating conditions.
For example:
Installation of a stopcock into the site water supply is recommended if the water valve is not turned off
on a regular basis after daily operation.
