6 Installation of the tank
1. The construction for placing the tank must be
at least 1 m above the pump discharge (Fig. 11).
2. Place the tank on a flat surface without
bumps. The structure must be of a size to
support the weight of the full tank.
3. Before installation, make sure that there is
no heat source near the tank.
4. It is prohibited to perform any building work
which may impair any maintenance or replace
-
ment of the tank.
5. Provide a suitable drainage system to avoid
flooding in the case of the tank bursting or
leaking.
6. This kit is only intended for aerial installations
and in no circumstances for a concealed floor
installation.
7. In order to limit the formation of algae and
other microorganisms in the tank, it is recom
-
mended to minimise as far as possible the direct
exposure of the water to light. In addition, the
inside of the tank must be regularly cleaned in
order to minimise as far as possible the formation
of deposits and ensure system operation.
7 Installation of the float switch
The float switch signals a too low level in the water
tank via a potential-free contact (less than
⅓
of
the maximum level).
Installation procedure:
1. Start by positioning the counterweight so
that the float switch actuates the valve at
⅓
from
the bottom of the tank (Fig. 3).
2. Drill an 18 mm diameter hole on the upper
part of the tank (Fig. 4).
3. Fix the nut of the threaded cable gland
(Fig. 5, pos. 1).
4. Place the float switch inside the tank and hold
it by the end of the cable (Fig. 5, pos. 2).
5. Pass the cable through the threaded cable
gland (Fig. 5, pos. 3).
6. Pull on the cable until the detector actuates
the valve at approximately
⅓
from the bottom
of the tank (Fig. 5, pos. 4).
8 Installation of the float valve
The valve, which is to be connected to the
municipal water network, ensures that the tank
is filled via the automatic opening/closing of the
valve.
Installation procedure:
1. Start by fixing the floater to the valve (Fig. 6).
2. Identify the slot of the drilled hole, the surface
must be flat. The drilled hole must be positioned
on the upper part on the side of the tank (Fig. 7,
pos. 1).
3. Drill a 27 mm diameter hole (Fig. 7, pos. 2).
4. Place the float valve in the tank and position
the valve thread in the housing which has previ
-
ously been drilled (Fig. 7, pos. 3).
5. Fix the valve with the nut (Fig. 7, pos. 4).
NOTICE:
The piping that will be connected on the valve
must in no circumstances exert a mechanical
stress on the tank.
9 Installation of the 2" bushing for priming
the pumps
Installation procedure:
1. Identify the slot of the drilled hole, the surface
must be flat. The drilled hole must be positioned
on the lower part of the tank, on the side. How
-
ever, it is also possible to position it underneath
the tank.
2. Drill a 60 mm diameter hole:
• Fig. 8, pos. 1 for a connection on the side of the
tank
• Fig. 8, pos. 2 for a connection underneath the tank
NOTICE:
The piping that will be connected on the bushing
must in no circumstances exert a mechanical
stress on the tank.
10 Installation of the 2" bushing for the tank
overflow
Installation procedure:
1. Identify the slot of the drilled hole, the surface
must be flat. The drilled hole must be positioned
on the upper part of the tank, on the side (Fig. 9,
pos. 1).
CAUTION!
Make sure that the overflow is above the float
valve.
2. Drill a 60 mm diameter hole (Fig. 9, pos. 2).
NOTICE:
The piping that will be connected on the bushing
must in no circumstances exert a mechanical
stress on the tank.
11 Installation of the ¾" bushing for draining
the tank
Installation procedure:
1. Identify the slot of the drilled hole, the surface
must be flat. The drilled hole must be positioned
underneath the tank.
2. Drill a 27 mm diameter hole (Fig. 10).
