5.2. Drilling and welding process
During the entire working process take care that nobody can:
touch the heated heating element!
touch the knives at the drill!
Adjust the knife blocks with the knives onto the desired drilling diameter = inner diamter of
branch pipe (chapter: 4.3.2).
Screw the reducer inserts to the left clamping tool with regard to the outer diameter of the
main pipe (chapter: 4.5).
Insert the main pipe into the left clamping tool, position with the desired distance to the
branch and clamp main pipe afterwards (chapter: 4.5).
Screw the reducer inserts to the right clamping tool with regard to the outer diameter of the
branch pipe (chapter: 4.4).
5.2.1. Drilling
While drilling it is obligatory to wear safety glasses and ear
protection!
Swivel the drill between both clamping tools and shift the drill into the right clamping tool up
to the limit stop. Shut the clamping tool and fix the drill by the spindle nut.
Screw in the star screw (3) on the left side for deactivating the spring from left table.
Switch on the drill with the switch (chapter: 4.3, no. 24) and fix it with the fixing knob (25).
Activate the drill with the pushbutton (18) at the handle move it to the main pipe with hand
wheel and drill the borehole into the main pipe with minor force.
When the borehole is completed move the drill to the right until the knives are out of the
main pipe, release the pushbutton and thus deactivate the drill.
Shortly press switch (24), by this you release switch (25) and deactivate the drill.
Open the right clamping tool and swivel the drill to the rear.
Take special attention for the knives are very sharp; necessarily wear
safety gloves!
Remove the drilling chips from the main pipe and knives thereby not touching the processed
surface of the main pipe.
Loosen the star screw on the left side for activating the spring from left table.
