There is the danger of crush injuries between the machine tables resp. the clamping tools,
Do not reach in-between the clamped pipe ends.
Do not reach or tread in-between the clamping tools / machine tables with pipe ends still to be
clamped.
Do not touch the guiding rails of the machine.
Do not hinder the moving tables.
Do wear safety gloves as protection against burning.
The heating element surfaces are to be clean and, above all, free from grease. Therefore they
are to be cleaned with non-fraying paper and detergent (e.g. PE - cleaner) before every
welding or if they are dirty. The anti-adhesive coating of the heating element has to remain
undamaged in the working area.
Clean the heating element only in cold condition – danger of inflammation caused by cleaning
agents.
Activate machine at the main switch, heating element and planer are to be out of the welding area in basic
position, if necessary move into basic position with <joysticks 5 + 6> to
.
The installation of the reducer inserts is made according to the outer diameter of the pipe to be welded
(chapter: 1.6) and the clamping tools are adjusted to the respective angle (chapter: 1.6 or 4.10).
Set pipe data and machine type at the SPA (WM8-1 without additional cylinder or WM 8-2 with additional
cylinder) (chapter: 5.7).
In case the heating element has been deactivated with <switch 3>, switch it on.
Heat-up the heating element onto welding temperature (chapter: 5.3).
As soon as the welding temperature has been reached you can start the welding cycle.
6.1.
How to insert and clamp the pipes
Move planer into the machine, <joystick 6> on:
(chapter: 4.2.1.
Slowly close the machine tables, <joystick 13> on:
until a gap of 20-50 mm is reached between planer
and leading edge of the clamping tools.
If the clamping tools are closed and clamped, loosen the clamping nuts and move out spindles and lift the
upper parts from the machine.
Insert pipes into the clamping tools in a way that they butt against the planer.
It is indispensable that both pipes are clamped with a constant overhang.
Put the upper clamping parts on the pipes.
Tighten clamping tools with the spindles, pressure discs and clamping nuts.
