10.4. SCAL DOWNLOAD
During SCAL download: WEST freezes
During SCAL download, WEST freezes.
a. WEST should be shut down using the task manager by pressing the
Ctrl , Alt , and Delete keys at the same time.
b. In the screen that appears, click on “Task Manager”.
c. In the task manager window, choose the applications tab, select WEST,
and click “End Task”.
d. After WEST is shut down, check that all cables and connectors are
secure.
e. Restart Windows, start WEST, and retry SCAL download again, see
Section 6 - Software Menu .
After SCAL Download: Bootloader no OS!
After downloading SCAL, keying off for 2 minutes, and keying back on, the
following error appears at the bottom of WEST: “[COMM:ok][CAN:ok][ECU:error]
– Bootloader no OS!” or “[COMM:ok][CAN:ok][ECU:error] – Bootloader
From App, Please Cycle KeySwitch!” (Fig. 10.7)

a. Key off for 1 minute then key on.
b. After keying back on, click RESET at the bottom right hand corner of
WEST, and re-download the SCAL, see Section 6 - Software Menu .
c. If the SCAL cannot be re-downloaded even after resetting, key off and
disconnect the controllers from the battery for 2 minutes.
d. Reconnect the battery to the controllers and key on.
e. Click “RESET” on WEST and re-download the SCAL, see Section 6 -
Software Menu .
