WEST Troubleshooting Guide

This troubleshooting guide targets some common problems that may be
encountered while using WEST.

10.1

Best Practices When Using WEST

10.1.1

Hardware Setup

•

Laptops should only be used at ambient temperature as specified by the
manufacturer. Using laptops outside the operating temperature does
not guarantee proper operation and may cause damage to the laptop.

•

Whenever cable connectors have screws, latches, or other securing devices,
ensure they are fastened and locked in place.

•

Do not use any hardware not provided by Westport to connect the
controllers to the computer.

•

Refer to the user instructions included with the hardware package.

10.1.2

Software Setup

•

Computers with multi-core processors must have the multi-core functionality
disabled to avoid unstable communication.
