6.21. Prepare to Install Plenum Sheets

Plenum sheet locators maintain the sheet location so bolting the plenum sheets to the rafters is easy. Four
locators are installed on two adjacent rafters (two near the top and two near the bottom). The plenum sheet is
placed on the locators, which keep it in position while the sheet is being bolted into place. Use plenum sheet
locators for all plenum sheet installation.

Read all the following steps before proceeding.

1. Install 1/2” flanged nuts onto the threaded ends of the four plenum sheet locators.

2. Select bolt holes near the top and bottom of two rafters where you will install a plenum sheet.

3. For each of the four locators, insert the locators into the top rafter flange (from below) and then insert the

lower end of the locator into the bottom rafter flange.

When you begin installing plenum sheets, you will position the sheets on the locators so they can be easily
bolted to the rafters.
