1. Plug cable into the car top box and
anchor to the top of elevator car with strain
relief.
2. In the hoistway, securely anchor the travel
cable with strain relief approximately 2 feet
above the midpoint of travel with the elevator
car at the lowest fl oor landing.
3. Double check that the traveling cable hangs
freely so it does not catch on any part of the
elevator car or any item mounted in the
hoistway. Run the elevator though its
complete travel range, including over and
under travel, to verify that the traveling cable
moves gracefully and does not get caught
on any part of the elevator car or any item
mounted in the hoistway. Verify as it moves
that it does not pull on the strain relief anchor
points. Adjust as necessary.
Note:
Ensure traveling cable can not be
crushed when resting on mechanical stops.
4. Route travel cable to the controller.
All wiring must meet N.E.C. and local code
requirements.
